LATEST NEWS - The call for candidates for Board Office-Bearer roles is open.

IAWBH elections 2024

We're pleased to announce that the call for nominations for the IAWBH Board is  now open and we would encourage all members to consider applying.

The deadline for applications is no later than midday (12.00 pm) UTC, Saturday 31 August 2024.

Candidates must be financial members of the Association and they must be proposed and seconded by financial members of the IAWBH.

The positions open for election include the role of President (noting that our current President can remain in her post for another two (2) years unless another member wishes to contest this position), three (3) Board members, two (2) reserve Board members, one (1) representative for the Electoral Committee and one (1) representative for the Governance Committee.

The minutes of the 2020 General Assembly provide that 'The President will be elected every two years by the General Assembly. To be eligible for the role of President, the candidate must have been a member of the IAWBH for a continuous period of at least 3.5 years.'

Please note that the IAWBH does not hold elections for posts where the number of applicants is the same as the number of vacancies.

If a vote is required, this will occur at some time between 6 and 30 September 2024 with any new Board members assuming their roles from 1 November 2024.

The IAWBH Constitution provides that at least five (5) Board members must be employed full-time by an academic institution or recognized research establishment.

14th IAWBH INTERNATIONAL Conference abstracts

Our 14th International conference in Huddersfield, UK, from 25-28 June 2024, was an absolutely fabulous event with some amazing speakers. It was particularly wonderful and very inspiring to hear from our esteemed colleagues, Professors Stale Valatne Einarsen and Eva Gemzoe Mikkelson.  It was also good to see the team from the International Labour Organisation (ILO) at our event.

A huge thank you to Stale and Eva, to the ILO team, and also to Dr Frances McGregor and her team for putting together such a truly unforgettable and stimulating event which offered such a fine balance between excellent conference presentations and memorable venues for our conference social calendar (and yes, there was dancing!)  We will have more to say in our upcoming July-August 2024 newsletter............ You will find the conference proceedings here.
