January 2021

As you’re aware, the global community is currently dealing with the impact of COVID-19. The Board has been closely monitoring this situation since February, and actively planning for a range of scenarios. In this complex and rapidly changing environment, the IAWBH Board took the difficult decision to postpone our 2020 conference, which was scheduled for June 8-12, 2020 in Dubai UAE.

This is a regrettable outcome, but we believe it is necessary to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our members and delegates, while still enabling participation in the conference.

Revised Conference details

The conference will be postponed to a virtual event held from April 12-14, 2021.

The local organising committee (LOC) of the Dubai conference will make further information available about the postponed event as soon as possible.

Information will be available on the IAWBH website, as well as the conference website.  The LOC can be contacted via email at IAWBH2020@uowdubai.ac.ae

The deadline for submission of new papers for the conference has been extended to February 7, 2021.

Papers

If your paper was accepted for the 2020 conference, it is accepted for the 2021 virtual event.

Please note: you will soon be asked to confirm that you will be presenting your accepted paper.

Additional papers will also be accepted, and these will be reviewed by the Scientific Review panel.

An additional stream for papers dealing with bullying and harassment in the context of COVID-19 will be added, so papers relevant to this theme will be particularly welcome.

Detailed information on the process for submission of abstracts will be available in early January 2021.

The deadline for new submissions, confirming accepted submissions, and any changes to submissions is 31 January, 2021.

SUBMISSION DATE EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 7, 2021

All speakers must purchase a ticket for the conference by 28 February, 2021.

Format

The conference will be run virtually using an online platform which incorporates Zoom.

Sessions will be scheduled at one of two set times to accommodate our international members.

These will be Universal Coordinated Time UTC 06:00-10:00 and UTC 15:00 – 19:00

Your paper will be scheduled for a time that is most suitable based on your location, as far as possible. Attendees will be able to attend live sessions, or watch the recordings of past sessions at a time that is more convenient.  All sessions will be available to view by ticket-holders for several months after the event.

Sessions will typically run for 60 minutes, with talks being 10 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions (via the chat function).

Panel discussions, keynotes, symposia and workshops will still feature in the schedule. An outline of the schedule will be available in  February 2021.

The virtual event will incorporate opportunities for networking, and making contact with colleagues to ask further questions.

Further information will be made available as soon as possible - please keep checking the IAWBH website for updates
